About the art:
"Taurus" - 2023 Oil Painting by Dakota Daetwiler. This is #10 of 13 of the zodiacs I am painting, it has taken over a year so far.
I am painting this series in a special way, focusing on the story of each Zodiac. That is why these might seem different than other pieces you have seen created.
The story of Taurus is: According to Greek mythology, the constellation Taurus commemorates the god Zeus. Zeus changed himself into a beautiful white Bull to win the affections of the Phoenician princess Europa. The lightning in the sky of this piece also signifies Zeus.
"Stubborn and Sensual" is the way Taurus can often be described. The bull represents the stubborn side and the beautiful woman with her glowing smile and fire red hair blowing in the wind represent the sensual side. You can also find the birthstones for the months of April (Diamond) and May (Emerald) in the cuff along the bull's horns. The Birth flowers for April and may are also present along the bottom corners, Daisy and Lily of the valley. The Taurus constellation is present in the sky above them, as well as the Taurus zodiac symbol in her earrings and necklace.
Whew! This piece was so much work and took me much longer than expected. I was messaging my friend Carra to ask her opinion about it many times! I hope you all love it, I am excited to get the last three finished up! Gemini is next, then cancer, and as a bonus I will be painting my version of the lesser known 13th Ophiuchus at the end.

Flat Photo Print (Signed)
Printed on high quality thick photo paper, these come hand signed by Dakota and ship the fastest. They will need to be framed before hanging as they are a flat rolled print. They are the most affordable option.
 
Dakota makes both of these prints in house, these are not made by some big box retailer. She makes sure each one is hand crafted with care, from the making of the wood frame (for canvas), stretching, stapling, signing... all done by her! The photo and canvas prints are made in her house on her 44" commercial giclee printer with high quality pigment, museum grade archival inks. She takes the time to make sure you will get the highest quality print possible.
 
Please keep prints out of direct sunlight, away from high heat, away from freezing temperatures, and away from high humidity areas.
