"Virgo" (Zodiac Series) - Painting by Dakota Daetwiler
This is the second piece I painted of the Zodiac series, be sure to follow along on social media to see them all as I create them!
Virgo is described in so many different ways, this piece was really difficult for me to settle on just a few key qualities. I wanted to portray her as thoughtful, kind, intelligent, and nurturing the most, those were the qualities a lot of Virgos suggested were important when I asked. Also, there is the story of Virgo and that is portrayed with her crown of wheat. I also included "symmetry" in the flowers on both sides of the canvas, as order and symmetry are important to a lot of Virgos. The flowers are the birth flowers for August and September, Aster and Gladiolus. On her arm band are two gems, the birthstones for August (Peridot) and September (Sapphire.)
I love how uniquely different she looks, and I hope all the Virgos out there enjoy her too!
